Cong misguiding people about BJP: Rajnath
BJP does not believe in the politics of division and there has been no riots in BJP-ruled states of Rajasthan, Chhaitisgarh, Goa and Madhya Pradesh

BJP President Rajnath Singh today criticised Congress for "misleading" people by calling his party "divisive" and said it was doing it to hide its misdeeds.
"Congress is making such allegations to hide its own misdeeds as is evident for the 1983 Nellie massacre in Assam when so many thousands of people were killed in 24 hours. Let me ask Congress -- who was ruling the state then," Singh said at an election rally here.
"BJP does not believe in the politics of division and there has been no riots in BJP-ruled states of Rajasthan, Chhaitisgarh, Goa and Madhya Pradesh," he said.
"Congress is misguiding the people against our Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi even after the SIT and Supreme Court have given a clean chit to him," he said.
"In fact, Mahatma Gandhi had said that Congress should be disbanded after Independence, but the party did not pay heed to the sentiments of the Father of the Nation," he said.
Recalling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's foreign policy, Singh said it was due to his diplomatic skill that China agreed to recognise Sikkim as a part of India which it had refused since its annexation in 1975."Now, the country's foreign policy is very weak with countries like China, Pakistan and even Maldives threatening India on minor issues," Singh said.
Launching a tirade against Rahul Gandhi, the BJP president said everywhere the Congress Vice President said he would remove poverty.
"They have been riding the slogan since Indira Gandhi, but their party has not been able to eradicate poverty despite being in power for the longest period of time," he said. "Besides, corruption has reached its nadir during Congress rule with financial irregularities adding to Rs 50,000 lakh crore," he said.
Claiming that all corruption cases came to light only because BJP was the principal opposition party in Parliament, he said If BJP came to power, all scam-tainted persons would have to face the consequences. Referring to the country's oldest oil refinery at Digboi in Assam, Singh said its condition had deteriorated over the years with production declining and only 1500 people currently working there.
"If BJP comes to power, we'll take steps to increase production and improve the condition of the refinery," he said. When he asked tea garden workers present there as to how much daily wage they received and they replied it was Rs 94, Singh said as per law, minimum wages should be Rs 180 daily and a BJP government would ensure this amount is payed to them.
