Central bank for umbrella credit bureau legislation

 This is required to pave way for setting up of credit information bureaus and easing the process of sharing of information on individuals and corporates.

 The recommendation made by the RBI-constituted S Iyer committee on credit information has been sent to the finance ministry, which has forwarded it to the ministry of law. It will require an amendment to the Banking Regulation Act.
