Outlook: The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 43.51/55 to a dollar on Monday.

Sentiment: Dull

• The spot rupee opened at 43.61 and recovered to close at 43.53/54 to a dollar.
• Tracking the spot rupee, the six-month and one-year forwards closed at 1.42 per cent and 1.30 per cent.

Money market

Sentiment: Bullish

• Gilt prices fell across the board even as the inflation rate was pegged at 4.33 per cent.
• Prices of long and medium-tenure papers fell by 20-40 paise, whereas short-tenure prices came off by 10-15 paise.
• The 10-year 7.38 per cent 2015 gilt closed at 6.86 per cent .
• Call rates went up to 5.15 per cent with reverse repor bids at Rs 9,670 crore.
• Corporate bond market was lacklustre.
