Forex market

Outlook:
The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 44.73-78 to a dollar.

Sentiment: Bearish

The spot rupee opened at 44.76/78 but lost to touch the day's low of 44.86/87 before closing for the day flat at 44.76/77 to a dollar.

The annualised premium for six-month and one-year forward dollars closed at 2.96 per cent and 2.54 per cent.

Money market

Sentiment: Bullish

Expectations of easing liquidity led to buying demand from the public sector banks.

The prices of government securities, mainly in the benchmark segment, moved up in the range of 10-20 paise .

The call rates came down from highs of 8.25 per cent on Monday to hover around 8.10 per cent.

The RBI infused liquidity to the tune of RS 8400 crore into the market.

The yield on the 10-year benchmark paper came down to 7.59 per cent against 7.61 per cent on Monday.
