Re ends slightly weaker at 44.71/$

Outlook:
The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 44.65-73 to a dollar on Monday.

Sentiment: Bullish

The spot rupee opened and closed at 44.70/71 after reaching an intraday low of 44.93/44.95 to a dollar.

The annualised premium on six-month and one-year forward dollars closed at 1.65 per cent each.

Money markets

Sentiment: Bullish

Government securities market remained rangebound even as the auctioned paper 8.07 per cent 2017 witnessed brisk trading.

Prices of short- and medium-term papers moved in a range of 5-20 paise.

The yield on 10-year benchmark paper closed at 7.43 per cent.

Call rates ruled around 6.10/6.15 per cent with the RBI absorbing around Rs 15,000 crore from the market.

The government stock 8.07 per cent 2017 got auctioned at a cut off yield of 7.43 per cent.
