Amul's milk procurement surpasses 1 cr litres/day

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) popularly known as Amul, today said it has achieved a landmark in procuring milk.

The dairy cooperatives of Gujarat under GCMMF collected more than one crore litres of milk in a single day on Thursday.

This is the highest ever procurement made by any dairy network in India on per day basis including both private and cooperatives. Prior to this, the highest milk procurement record was also made by Amul on January 15, 2007 at 89 lakh litres per day.

Further, the entire quantity of milk procured was processed successfully into milk and milk products and no storage of the wholesome drink was done, Amul said.

"2007 proved to be memorable year," the company said.
