Mentha oil rises 0.27% on industrial demand

Lower arrivals influence prices

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 3.90 to Rs 1,398.20 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions on account of good demand from pharmaceutical units against lower arrivals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for October gained 3.90, or 0.27%, to Rs 1,398.20 per kg, with a trading volume of 31 lots.

The September contract rose by Rs 3.60, or 0.26%, to Rs 1,378 per kg in 219 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend in the spot market on the back of a pick up in demand and lower arrivals from the main producing region of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, pushed up mentha oil prices in futures trade.
