Sensex up 124pts; Reliance soars 7%

The Sensex touched a high of 12,483, and is now up 124 points at 12,435.

Reliance has zoomed 7% to Rs 1,107.

Cipla, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 271, Rs 660 and Rs 875, respectivey.

Tata Power and Tata Motors have gained 1.5% each at Rs 566 and Rs 975, respectively.

Infosys and BHEL are up over 1% each at Rs 3,213 and Rs 2,390, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has dropped 2.5% to Rs 123. HLL and Maruti have declined 1.3% each to Rs 290 and Rs 950, respectively.

Out of 2,549 stocks traded so far, 1,515 have advanced, 976 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
