Sensex up 43pts; Bharti surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 43 points at 14,296.

Bharti Airtel has rallied over 3% to Rs 818. Hero Honda and HDFC have advanced around 2% each to Rs 730 and Rs 1684, respectively.

Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Steel have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 870, Rs 1,692 and Rs 451, respectively.

Reliance Energy, Maruti, Gujarat Ambuja and Hindalco are up over 1% each.

Ranbaxy has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 388. Satyam, Infosys and HLL are down over 1% each to Rs 471, Rs 2,335 and Rs 197, respectively.

Out of 2,473 stocks traded so far, 1,271 have advanced, 1,138 have declined and 64 are unchanged.
