Zinc rises 0.14% on spot demand, global cues

Zinc prices edged up by 0.14% in futures trade today after speculators created fresh positions, supported by firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract for zinc traded higher by 15 paise, or 0.14%, to Rs 105.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 2 lots.

The March contract inched up by similar margin to, Rs 104.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 34 lots.

Analysts attributed rise in zinc futures to a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange and pick up in domestic demand.

At the LME, zinc gained 0.80% to $2,095.25 per tonne in early trade today.
