Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap along with Women in Film and Television (WIFT) India hosted the premiere of the documentary film "The world before her" directed by India-born Canadian filmmaker Nisha Pahuja in Mumbai.
Former Miss India Pooja Chopra who plays one of the lead role in the film looked quite happy as the film is based on her real life story and said, "I am very excited because it's my own story and I trust Nisha as a director a lot as she has portrayed the story in an inspiring way. And I hope this story not only inspires our country but the entire world".
The premiere saw the presence of celebrities like Kalki Koechlin, Elli Avram, Shilpa Shukla and Nimrat Kaur amongst others who came in to support the documentary.
'The world before her' explores the complex and conflicting environment for young girls in India by profiling two young women - Ruhi, who aspires to become Miss India, and Prachi Trivedi, a militant Hindu nationalist with the Durga Vahini - participating in two very different types of training camps.
