England has reportedly called in spinners Scott Borthwick and James Tredwell for the remaining two Ashes Tests following the sudden retirement of Graeme Swann from international and first-class cricket.
Monty Panesar is expected to step straight into the line-up to replace Swann as the main spin bowling option but Borthwick has been made immediately available for selection after he was called in from his Sydney grade club, Northern Districts.
According to News.com.au, young leg-spinner Borthwick has arrived in Melbourne on Monday and will train with England ahead of the fourth Test.
Tredwell will arrive from England during the fourth Test and will be available for selection for the final Test in Sydney, beginning on January 3, the report added.
