Former Bangladesh Test captain Habibul Bashar has backed his country's cricket squad to carry forward their tournament success in the second and final Test match on Wednesday in order to register their first ever Test victory over Pakistan in Dhaka .

Bangladesh whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 to clinch their first-ever ODI series win and subsequently defeated the tourists in the lone Twenty20 International.

In addition to the ODI series and a T20 win, Bangladesh staged a remarkable fightback in the drawn first Test in Khulna where they avoided defeat for the first time in nine matches against Pakistan despite trailing by 296 runs on the first innings.

Bashar said that they can surely go for the kill in Dhaka, insisting that they have a positive mindset which could help them gain an edge over the opponents, the Dawn reported.

Bashar also said that their comeback in Khulna raised the team's confidence to a new level, claiming that not many teams could repeat their performance against a side like Pakistan who have such a versatile bowling attack.
