Nepal's national poet (Rastrakavi) Madhav Prasad Ghimire was flown to New Delhi on Wednesday for further treatment with growing complexities.

"He is being flown to New Delhi with undergoing complexities. He will be undergoing further treatment in the Medanta Hospital, as I have been informed," Indira Poudel, daughter-in-law of Ghimire, told ANI over the phone from Chitwan.

Ghimire is accompanied by his son Indriwar and Dr. Rohit Chaudhary of the Grande Hospital for his further treatment in Delhi.

Prior to this, Ghimire was undergoing treatment in Dhapasi-based Grande International for 12 days in Kathmandu due to internal bleeding.

The 99-year-old poet has been under regular medication for the past four months following complications in his heart, kidney, and lungs.
