Former Romanian world number one Ilie Nastase has been honoured with the 'Star of Romania' on his 70th birthday for his immense contribution to sport.
While presenting the country's highest civilian honor, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis told Nastase that he was a phenomenon on the tennis court who offered a total spectacle, Sport24 reported.
Known for his sorcery with the racket and his ability to entertain with his antics, Nastase is considered as one of the top players of the 1970s.
He has won 103 singles and doubles titles, including two Grand Slam singles titles.
