Auto shares gain

Auto stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 182.26 points or 0.99% at 18531.69 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 3.82%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 2.77%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 2.66%),Tata Motors Ltd (up 2.49%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.68%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 1.17%), Cummins India Ltd (up 1.17%), Bosch Ltd (up 1.12%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 1.03%), and Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.89%).

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.11%), moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 209.26 or 0.52% at 40495.74.

The Nifty 50 index was up 54.7 points or 0.46% at 11926.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 48.23 points or 0.36% at 13391.91.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 26.76 points or 0.58% at 4661.28.

On BSE,909 shares were trading in green, 585 were trading in red and 52 were unchanged.
