Auto stocks edge lower
Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 234.72 points or 1.25% at 18568.58 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Exide Industries Ltd (down 3.38%), TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 3.33%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 2.17%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 2.15%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 1.38%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 1.37%), Eicher Motors Ltd (down 1.12%), Tata Motors Ltd (down 1.09%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.05%), and Cummins India Ltd (down 0.88%).
On the other hand, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 3.39%), and Bosch Ltd (up 2.44%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 80.12 or 0.2% at 40245.15.
The Nifty 50 index was up 37.25 points or 0.31% at 11927.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 57.17 points or 0.42% at 13658.09.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 10.97 points or 0.23% at 4708.14.
On BSE,1343 shares were trading in green, 1084 were trading in red and 169 were unchanged.
