Auto stocks drop
Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 62.82 points or 0.34% at 18580.13 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Bosch Ltd (down 1.24%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.19%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 1.15%),Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 0.64%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 0.62%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 0.51%), Eicher Motors Ltd (down 0.45%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 0.26%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 0.12%), and Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 0.03%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.33%), Exide Industries Ltd (up 1%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 0.72%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 104.32 or 0.25% at 41453.68.
The Nifty 50 index was down 26.7 points or 0.22% at 12229.15.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 64.58 points or 0.47% at 13713.33.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 15.72 points or 0.33% at 4781.05.
On BSE,1311 shares were trading in green, 1075 were trading in red and 166 were unchanged.
