Telecom stocks move up

Telecom stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Telecom index increasing 39.6 points or 3.89% at 1056.75 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, OnMobile Global Ltd (up 9.99%), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 6.37%),Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 4.27%),Reliance Communications Ltd (up 4.05%),HFCL Ltd (up 3.39%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 2.85%), Vodafone Idea Ltd (up 2.81%), Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (up 2.46%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 2.28%), and Tejas Networks Ltd (up 1.63%).

On the other hand, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.17%), turned lower.

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 736.69 or 2.46% at 30630.65.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 241.95 points or 2.77% at 8990.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 279.08 points or 2.8% at 10258.8.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 83.96 points or 2.37% at 3630.43.

On BSE,1319 shares were trading in green, 199 were trading in red and 78 were unchanged.
