Auto stocks edge lower
Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 84.21 points or 0.46% at 18191.73 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 2.07%), Cummins India Ltd (down 1.53%),Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.45%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 1.24%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 1.1%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 0.45%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 0.45%), Exide Industries Ltd (down 0.39%), Bosch Ltd (down 0.38%), and TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 0.12%).
On the other hand, Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 2.2%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 1.16%), and Eicher Motors Ltd (up 0.45%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 90.07 or 0.22% at 40266.62.
The Nifty 50 index was down 13.35 points or 0.11% at 11882.1.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 24.7 points or 0.19% at 13351.1.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 20.99 points or 0.45% at 4670.18.
On BSE,1089 shares were trading in green, 1308 were trading in red and 183 were unchanged.
