FMCG stocks edge lower

FMCG stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index decreasing 50.87 points or 0.43% at 11777.74 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd (down 5.07%), Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (down 4.86%),Waterbase Ltd (down 3.99%),Avanti Feeds Ltd (down 3.93%),Apex Frozen Foods Ltd (down 3.9%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Vadilal Industries Ltd (down 3.48%), Godfrey Phillips India Ltd (down 3.18%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd (down 3.15%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd (down 3.12%), and Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd (down 2.79%).

On the other hand, Parag Milk Foods Ltd (up 13.45%), Gujarat Ambuja Exports Ltd (up 6.33%), and Mcleod Russel India Ltd (up 4.13%) turned up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 90.07 or 0.22% at 40266.62.

The Nifty 50 index was down 13.35 points or 0.11% at 11882.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 24.7 points or 0.19% at 13351.1.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 20.99 points or 0.45% at 4670.18.

On BSE,1089 shares were trading in green, 1308 were trading in red and 183 were unchanged.
