Auto stocks ease

Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 218.94 points or 1.2% at 18091.92 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 2.56%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 2.33%),Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 2.09%),Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 1.9%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 1.79%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Eicher Motors Ltd (down 1.62%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 1.44%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.2%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 1.15%), and MRF Ltd (down 0.94%).

On the other hand, Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.18%), turned up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 380.39 or 0.92% at 40749.78.

The Nifty 50 index was down 108.65 points or 0.89% at 12042.5.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 45.1 points or 0.33% at 13542.46.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 10.34 points or 0.22% at 4758.89.

On BSE,1117 shares were trading in green, 1213 were trading in red and 182 were unchanged.
