Auto stocks edge lower
Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 31.41 points or 0.18% at 17301.05 at 13:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (down 2.35%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 1.91%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 0.43%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 0.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 0.17%), and Bosch Ltd (down 0.1%), were the top losers.
On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (up 2.34%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 1.58%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 0.98%) turned up.
At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 312.14 or 0.76% at 41206.52.
The Nifty 50 index was up 96.3 points or 0.8% at 12088.8.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 197.84 points or 1.37% at 14665.27.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 62.61 points or 1.25% at 5055.5.
On BSE,1434 shares were trading in green, 902 were trading in red and 162 were unchanged.
