Capital Goods stocks edge higher
Capital Goods stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Capital Goods index increasing 182.49 points or 0.99% at 18613.21 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Sadbhav Engineering Ltd (up 2.08%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd (up 1.53%),Carborundum Universal Ltd (up 1.22%),Bharat Electronics Ltd (up 0.88%),AIA Engineering Ltd (up 0.8%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Graphite India Ltd (up 0.71%), V-Guard Industries Ltd (up 0.68%), Honeywell Automation India Ltd (up 0.57%), HEG Ltd (up 0.41%), and Finolex Cables Ltd (up 0.32%).
On the other hand, Havells India Ltd (down 1.91%), Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd (down 0.6%), and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 0.56%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 160.26 or 0.41% at 39219.09.
The Nifty 50 index was up 34.55 points or 0.3% at 11638.65.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 58.24 points or 0.44% at 13281.3.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 19.89 points or 0.44% at 4535.71.
On BSE,883 shares were trading in green, 525 were trading in red and 46 were unchanged.
