Consumer goods stocks edge higher

Consumer goods stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index increasing 20.43 points or 0.54% at 3826.26 at 09:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Anant Raj Ltd (up 6.4%), Amber Enterprises India Ltd (up 6.06%),Orient Electric Ltd (up 4.91%),Unitech Ltd (up 4.85%),Vipul Ltd (up 4.66%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd (up 3.54%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd (up 2.98%), Raymond Ltd (up 2.42%), Chalet Hotels Ltd (up 2.37%), and Ajmera Realty & Infra India Ltd (up 2.32%).

 

On the other hand, Emami Realty Ltd (down 5%), D B Realty Ltd (down 4.98%), and Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 4.97%) turned lower.

At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 75.19 or 0.18% at 40989.01.

The Nifty 50 index was up 14.9 points or 0.12% at 12050.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.35 points or 0% at 14704.31.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 3.14 points or 0.06% at 5047.83.

On BSE,811 shares were trading in green, 463 were trading in red and 66 were unchanged.
