Energy stocks gain
Energy stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Energy index increasing 16.43 points or 0.32% at 5217.49 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 2.99%), Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (up 1.81%),Adani Gas Ltd (up 1.75%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.98%),Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (up 0.88%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (up 0.82%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.55%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (up 0.41%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.38%), and Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (up 0.25%).
On the other hand, Goa Carbon Ltd (down 1.58%), Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (down 1.32%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 0.6%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 10.55 or 0.03% at 41471.81.
The Nifty 50 index was down 4.5 points or 0.04% at 12210.05.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 33.69 points or 0.25% at 13418.02.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 5.77 points or 0.12% at 4702.03.
On BSE,843 shares were trading in green, 509 were trading in red and 84 were unchanged.
