Energy shares slide

Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 10.3 points or 0.2% at 5241.93 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 2.39%), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.99%),Goa Carbon Ltd (down 1.41%),Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 1.28%),Deep Industries Ltd (down 1.06%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Oil India Ltd (down 0.56%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.54%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 0.44%), Adani Gas Ltd (down 0.43%), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.3%).

On the other hand, Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (up 3.88%), Aban Offshore Ltd (up 2.69%), and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (up 2.35%) moved up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 342.87 or 0.84% at 41281.59.

The Nifty 50 index was up 94.9 points or 0.79% at 12148.85.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 67.89 points or 0.51% at 13373.68.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 16.23 points or 0.35% at 4703.7.

On BSE,1298 shares were trading in green, 1050 were trading in red and 171 were unchanged.
