Financials shares slide

Financials stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Finance index falling 70.2 points or 0.89% at 7837.3 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, IFCI Ltd (down 4.13%), SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd (down 2.8%),South Indian Bank Ltd (down 2.28%),Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (down 2.23%),PTC India Financial Services Ltd (down 2.12%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Indian Overseas Bank (down 2.05%), Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd (down 2.01%), HDFC Bank Ltd (down 1.96%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd (down 1.93%), and UCO Bank (down 1.87%).

On the other hand, Balmer Lawrie Investment Ltd (up 10.48%), Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd (up 9.12%), and Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd (up 9.04%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 332.48 or 0.65% at 51112.17.

The Nifty 50 index was down 83.65 points or 0.55% at 15161.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 190.41 points or 0.9% at 21275.7.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 53.38 points or 0.76% at 7078.11.

On BSE,1601 shares were trading in green, 1262 were trading in red and 174 were unchanged.
