Healthcare stocks edge higher
Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 82.22 points or 0.58% at 14191.04 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Dr Lal Pathlabs Ltd (up 4.15%), Metropolis Healthcare Ltd (up 2.81%),Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (up 2.74%),Strides Pharma Science Ltd (up 2.65%),Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.5%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Laurus Labs Ltd (up 2.31%), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.18%), Albert David Ltd (up 2.1%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (up 2.03%), and Piramal Enterprises Ltd (up 1.88%).
On the other hand, Medicamen Biotech Ltd (down 2.63%), Shilpa Medicare Ltd (down 2.37%), and FDC Ltd (down 1.72%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 169.69 or 0.41% at 41443.5.
The Nifty 50 index was down 51.45 points or 0.42% at 12196.8.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 44.68 points or 0.3% at 14890.64.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 20.26 points or 0.4% at 5124.2.
On BSE,774 shares were trading in green, 772 were trading in red and 78 were unchanged.
