Information Technology stocks edge lower

Information Technology stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index decreasing 5.58 points or 0.03% at 16054.37 at 13:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, 3i Infotech Ltd (down 4.29%), HCL Infosystems Ltd (down 3.11%),Intellect Design Arena Ltd (down 2.37%),Aptech Ltd (down 1.69%),Newgen Software Technologies Ltd (down 1.58%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were AXISCADES Engineering Technologies Ltd (down 1.36%), Mastek Ltd (down 1.35%), Infosys Ltd (down 1.34%), NIIT Ltd (down 1.05%), and Sonata Software Ltd (down 0.8%).

On the other hand, TVS Electronics Ltd (up 4.97%), Datamatics Global Services Ltd (up 3.01%), and Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd (up 2.77%) turned up.

 

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 148.2 or 0.36% at 40937.58.

The Nifty 50 index was up 41.9 points or 0.35% at 12021.55.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 70.56 points or 0.49% at 14616.07.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 31.58 points or 0.63% at 5060.12.

On BSE,1195 shares were trading in green, 1099 were trading in red and 184 were unchanged.
