Metal shares gain

Metal stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Metal index rising 93.49 points or 0.99% at 9562.57 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 2.17%), Steel Authority of India Ltd (up 1.83%),Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (up 1.68%),Vedanta Ltd (up 1.66%),Tata Steel Ltd (up 1.48%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were NMDC Ltd (up 1.27%), JSW Steel Ltd (up 1.14%), Coal India Ltd (up 0.57%), and Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.43%).

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 300.3 or 0.74% at 40479.29.

The Nifty 50 index was up 1.6 points or 0.01% at 11923.1.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 118.32 points or 0.88% at 13336.91.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 50.05 points or 1.06% at 4665.46.

On BSE,691 shares were trading in green, 666 were trading in red and 102 were unchanged.
