Metal stocks ease
Metal stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Metal index decreasing 125.27 points or 1.32% at 9390.3 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, National Aluminium Company Ltd (down 2.53%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 2.07%),Coal India Ltd (down 2%),NMDC Ltd (down 1.24%),JSW Steel Ltd (down 0.8%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Vedanta Ltd (down 0.78%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (down 0.74%), Tata Steel Ltd (down 0.52%), and Steel Authority of India Ltd (down 0.26%).
On the other hand, Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.62%), turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 47.67 or 0.12% at 40163.73.
The Nifty 50 index was down 6.1 points or 0.05% at 11834.35.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 4.98 points or 0.04% at 13339.71.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 2.75 points or 0.06% at 4626.91.
On BSE,916 shares were trading in green, 1406 were trading in red and 150 were unchanged.
