Metal stocks spurt

Metal stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Metal index increasing 125.94 points or 2.1% at 6121.79 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (up 3.81%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 3.08%),JSW Steel Ltd (up 2.79%),Vedanta Ltd (up 2.08%),Tata Steel Ltd (up 1.77%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Coal India Ltd (up 1.51%), NMDC Ltd (up 0.89%), National Aluminium Company Ltd (up 0.49%), Steel Authority of India Ltd (up 0.36%), and Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.27%).

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 298.82 or 0.93% at 32413.34.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 77.55 points or 0.83% at 9458.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 85.9 points or 0.79% at 10948.44.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 33.58 points or 0.88% at 3849.13.

On BSE,953 shares were trading in green, 492 were trading in red and 78 were unchanged.
