Metal stocks slide

Metal stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Metal index decreasing 42.94 points or 0.48% at 8850.93 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, National Aluminium Company Ltd (up 3.6%), Vedanta Ltd (up 2.51%), NMDC Ltd (up 0.92%), Tata Steel Ltd (up 0.72%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 0.56%), and JSW Steel Ltd (up 0.43%), were the top losers.

On the other hand, Coal India Ltd (up 1.62%), and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (up 0.78%) turned up.

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 328.78 or 0.85% at 38927.77.

The Nifty 50 index was up 71.9 points or 0.63% at 11535.9.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 69.6 points or 0.54% at 12869.52.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 40.09 points or 0.92% at 4399.69.

On BSE,1185 shares were trading in green, 1087 were trading in red and 192 were unchanged.
