Oil and Gas stocks edge lower

Oil and Gas stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index decreasing 158.36 points or 1.1% at 14222.37 at 13:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 2.56%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.87%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.38%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.35%),Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.99%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were GAIL (India) Ltd (down 0.85%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 0.77%), and Castrol India Ltd (down 0.71%).

On the other hand, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.31%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.28%) turned up.

 

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 182.09 or 0.44% at 41123.94.

The Nifty 50 index was down 48.45 points or 0.4% at 12089.5.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 59.38 points or 0.4% at 14789.36.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 19.22 points or 0.38% at 5126.65.

On BSE,1152 shares were trading in green, 1182 were trading in red and 151 were unchanged.
