Power shares fall

Power stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 1.48 points or 0.1% at 1448.95 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, CESC Ltd (down 2.2%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 0.63%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 0.48%),NTPC Ltd (down 0.48%),NHPC Ltd (down 0.48%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Adani Power Ltd (down 0.33%), Thermax Ltd (down 0.26%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.16%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.03%).

On the other hand, Adani Transmission Ltd (up 1.73%), Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.15%), and K E C International Ltd (up 0.92%) moved up.

 

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 571.97 or 1.83% at 31899.19.

The Nifty 50 index was up 157.4 points or 1.72% at 9311.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 142.04 points or 1.34% at 10775.58.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 64.88 points or 1.75% at 3778.23.

On BSE,1330 shares were trading in green, 905 were trading in red and 175 were unchanged.
