Power stocks see impressive gains

Power stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Power index increasing 17.83 points or 0.93% at 1933.87 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Transmission Ltd (up 8%), JSW Energy Ltd (up 5.51%),Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 1.39%),NTPC Ltd (up 0.93%),Siemens Ltd (up 0.89%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 0.78%), ABB India Ltd (up 0.77%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 0.47%), K E C International Ltd (up 0.46%), and Torrent Power Ltd (up 0.2%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 6.5%), Thermax Ltd (down 0.65%), and Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.59%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 120.51 or 0.32% at 38334.98.

The Nifty 50 index was up 30 points or 0.26% at 11371.15.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 12.14 points or 0.09% at 12799.73.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 4.71 points or 0.11% at 4343.62.

On BSE,718 shares were trading in green, 599 were trading in red and 83 were unchanged.
