Telecom stocks slide
Telecom stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Telecom index decreasing 18.76 points or 1.52% at 1214.26 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 2.81%), ITI Ltd (down 2.25%),Bharti Infratel Ltd (down 1.76%),Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 1.51%),Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (down 1.46%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 1.28%), Reliance Communications Ltd (down 1.18%), OnMobile Global Ltd (down 1.15%), and HFCL Ltd (down 0.58%).
On the other hand, Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 1.94%), turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 296.65 or 0.71% at 41316.54.
The Nifty 50 index was down 81.25 points or 0.66% at 12167.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 56.84 points or 0.38% at 14902.8.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 21.51 points or 0.42% at 5125.45.
On BSE,1078 shares were trading in green, 1280 were trading in red and 161 were unchanged.
