Power stocks slide

Power stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Power index decreasing 15.16 points or 1.05% at 1428.24 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Transmission Ltd (down 2.88%), NTPC Ltd (down 2.8%),K E C International Ltd (down 1.07%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.38%),Torrent Power Ltd (down 0.3%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were CESC Ltd (down 0.23%), and Adani Power Ltd (down 0.14%).

On the other hand, NHPC Ltd (up 2.04%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 1.27%), and Siemens Ltd (up 0.42%) turned up.

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 331.15 or 1.07% at 31149.76.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 88.95 points or 0.98% at 9155.5.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 152.16 points or 1.45% at 10624.53.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 53.84 points or 1.45% at 3768.97.

On BSE,1385 shares were trading in green, 695 were trading in red and 152 were unchanged.
