Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index records a surge of 9.90%, NIFTY climbs 5.32%

Nifty Auto index ended up 9.90% at 7605.85 today. The index has added 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Ashok Leyland Ltd rose 18.49%, TVS Motor Company Ltd gained 13.66% and Eicher Motors Ltd jumped 13.38%. The Nifty Auto index has decreased 28.00% over last one year compared to the 0.35% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index increased 8.31% and Nifty Private Bank index added 8.27% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 5.32% to close at 11274.2 while the SENSEX increased 5.32% to close at 38014.62 today.
