Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 2.32%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.32% at 3125.1 today. The index has added 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Syndicate Bank jumped 4.64%, Punjab National Bank added 4.43% and Union Bank of India gained 3.94%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 16.00% over last one year compared to the 2.12% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index increased 1.40% and Nifty PSE index increased 1.26% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.52% to close at 10727.35 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.51% to close at 35695.1 today.
