Utilties stocks slide

Utilties stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Utilities index decreasing 20.28 points or 1.19% at 1680.6 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Reliance Power Ltd (down 4.84%), Rattanindia Power Ltd (down 4.74%),Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (down 4.35%),Adani Transmission Ltd (down 4.13%),Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 3.96%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.99%), Adani Power Ltd (down 2.75%), GE T&D India Ltd (down 2.7%), BF Utilities Ltd (down 1.92%), and NHPC Ltd (down 1.62%).

On the other hand, Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (up 4.69%), Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (up 2.58%), and A2Z Infra Engineering Ltd (up 1.54%) turned up.

 

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 246.7 or 0.62% at 39642.26.

The Nifty 50 index was down 78.15 points or 0.67% at 11600.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 136.57 points or 0.95% at 14192.5.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 38.13 points or 0.78% at 4880.75.

On BSE,664 shares were trading in green, 1600 were trading in red and 145 were unchanged.
