Utilties stocks rise

Utilties stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Utilities index increasing 20.42 points or 1.15% at 1802.48 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Reliance Power Ltd (up 10.82%), GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (up 7.46%),Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 7.04%),GE T&D India Ltd (up 3.87%),NLC India Ltd (up 3.01%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were PTC India Ltd (up 2.99%), Adani Power Ltd (up 2.73%), SJVN Ltd (up 2.68%), CESC Ltd (up 2.63%), and Adani Transmission Ltd (up 1.74%).

On the other hand, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (down 4.24%), Va Tech Wabag Ltd (down 2.74%), and BF Utilities Ltd (down 1.17%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 86.93 or 0.22% at 39138.99.

The Nifty 50 index was up 23.5 points or 0.2% at 11609.85.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 113.65 points or 0.88% at 13027.74.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 41.86 points or 0.95% at 4469.59.

On BSE,1022 shares were trading in green, 378 were trading in red and 58 were unchanged.
