Maharashtra polls: Meeting underway to finalise Congress candidates

A meeting of the Congress election committee is underway here to finalise candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.
The meeting is being held after the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi returned from the US, where she had gone for a medical check-up.
The Congress is expected to give 130 seats out of the 288 to its ally NCP.
NCP had got 114 seats in last assembly polls.
This time, however, the NCP has sought equal number of seats after the Congress debacle in Lok Sabha elections.
