A five-year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy in Kutkudungri area here today, police said.
The girl's parents, who are daily labourers, had gone to their native village leaving the girl with her paternal uncle and aunt who also went out leaving her in the neighbour's house, police said, adding that the 16-year-old accused then committed the crime.
Locals caught hold of the accused and beat him up before handing him over to the police.
The girl has been admitted in government-run MGM Hospital here, sources said.
