Arrested mobile phone thief flees from hospital

A 22-year-old man, arrested for mobile thefts, escaped from a hospital in suburban Goregaon today, police said.

The man (name not disclosed) was arrested yesterday for stealing mobile handsets in Malad area.

He was taken to a hospital in Goregaon for medical check-up, where he managed to give police the slip from the hospital's crowded waiting area.

Police have launched a manhunt for him.
