Elsewhere, brass utensils scrap rose owing to good offtake from consumer industries.
On the global front, industrial metal copper dropped on jitters over China's economic health, after factory growth stuttered in July and a central bank official said downward pressure on the economy would persist into the second half.

Nickel and tin plunged Rs 15 per kg each to Rs 870 and Rs 1,175 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 885 and Rs 1,190.
Copper scrap heavy dipped by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 393 from Rs 401.
Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar slid by Rs 7 per kg each to Rs 401 and Rs 421 from previous closing level of Rs 408 and Rs 428.
Copper sheet cutting slipped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 375 from Rs 380, Copper armiture by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 382 from Rs 386 last weekend.
Copper utensils scrap, brass sheet cutting and zinc also declined by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 360, Rs 307 and Rs 165 as against its last level of Rs 363, Rs 310 and Rs 168, respectively.
Lead softened by a Re per kg to Rs 126.
However, brass utensils scrap gained Rs 5 per kg to Rs 296 from Rs 291, previously.
