Feluda now lends voice to Tagore album

Press Trust of India Kolkata

"Feel chastened to pronounce those sublime lines for the first time in English in the album," Chakraborty, having captivated the Bengali audiences again with his portrayal as fictional sleuth Feluda in 'Royal Bengal Rahasya' told PTI after launch of the album here this evening.

Quipping he was a bit apprehensive when first faced with the proposal of recording his voice in English, the famed Bollywood character actor said, "the transliterated lines of litterateur Jayabrato Chatterjee touched my heart and I felt at ease in pronouncing them."

While Chakraborty lent voice to the lines stringing the unique Rabindrasangeet numbers, the ten classical Tagore tracks including 'Tomar Khola Hawaa' are rendered by teacher in US colleges and 'Geetaprabha' Maitrayee Chakraborty.

Director of Asha Audio Mahua Lahiri said the album also consists of songs like 'Ami rupe tomar bholabona', 'Nibhrito praner debota' and 'Bajilo kahar bina' aimed at recreating the aura of Rabindrasangeet at the global stage.
