Actress Halle Berry has spoken out in favour of a new anti-harassment law which would restrict the activities of paparazzi photographers in California.
The actress gave testimony to the state's Assembly Committee on Public Safety, saying that her daughter Nahla lived in fear of paparazzi, reported Digital Spy.
Berry, who is expecting a baby boy with Olivier Martinez later this year, told the hearing, "My daughter doesn't want to go to school because she knows the men are watching for her. They jump out of the bushes and from behind cars and who knows where else, besieging these children just to get a photo."

Berry also said that Nahla was left distressed when paparazzi became involved in an altercation with herself and Martinez.
"They were trying to start a fight with my fiance because if they get a photo of that, it's more money. Nahla asked, 'Mommy, are they going to kill us?' She didn't get to sleep until 3am, because she can't get this out of her mind and she doesn't understand what just happened to her," she added.
The committee ultimately voted in favour of the bill, which will now be referred to the Assembly Judiciary Committee for further scrutiny.
