IT dept searches houses and clinics of 11 doctors in Pune

The Income Tax department today carried out searches at the clinics and houses of 11 prominent doctors here.

Investigation wing of the department carried out the searches as these doctors were suspected of have under-reported the income, an IT official said.

Clinics and houses of a gynaecologist, an orthopaedic docor, an IVF specialist, two ayrurveda doctors, two cardiologists, three radiologists and a pediatrician were searched.

Similar searches were carried out elsewhere in Maharashtra too, the official said, without giving further details.
